Wonderful, Chris, and certainly you can vary it as long as the veggies don't affect the colour. I particularly love the chopped ginger that escapes the blender for a lovely tangy crunch that piques the flavour.
Yes, every morning first thing I have fresh ginger steeped for five mins with added squeezed lemon juice and raw honey plus herbs from the garden if you have them. I posted a recipe with all the variations in a previous post. Fab for cleansing at bedtime too with fresh lemon balm leaves added.
Sounds like a good option. I would do that for a rich flavoured soup where I roast all the veg but for this one, for me, it could well overpower the lovely fresh and suble flavour of the recipe.
I made this yesterday, and it is delicious! I actually did not have fresh ginger, so I used the powder, but I added 3 sprigs of rosemary to the pot, fished them out before blending, and they deepened the flavor quite nicely, especially on the second day. Thanks for sharing this recipe! I will definitely be making this again.
That's wonderful news, Betsy. It is one of my favourites and I will be sharing more of my soups. Thank you for sharing your amendments and delighted you will be making it again.
You are very welcome, Perry and delighted these wonderful ingredients are on your regular list. I love the idea of Arya enjoying it too! It works just as well with Butternut Squash for that lovely pumpkin colour and lots of parsley for its highly alkalising properties that's are excellent for cleansing the kidneys and assisting with digestion.
I have an acorn squash, several pumpkins, and two butternut squashes in my kitchen right now. I will make this soon, or a variant of it.

I need to go get some ginger. Thanks for the reminder!
Great, Chris, it's a bit of a deal breaker for this one and worth the trip.
And I want to make some tea out of it too.

Sounds so nice. I want some now!
Double or triple the amount of garlic and roast at least half of it (unpeeled) before popping it in (peeled). And: ginger loves nutmeg.

Sounds good!

I love sweet potatoes and all the ingredients are what I regularly eat. Arya can have a few beakfuls, as well. Thanks for the recipe.
