Wow, Hudson, I love that you enjoyed this, thank you! It took a while to put together and the book, yes, it sounds perfect! I love the link too, I will look into this and share in another post. I buy from Riverford Farm who deliver to me. They represent about 50 organic farms in the British Isles and a few in places like Spain. It's a great comfort and blessing to have such good food and so important we support our local growers.

Excellent! We make all natural deodorant, soaps, shampoos, etc., as well as medicinal salves. I don’t use ANY fabric softeners, scents, etc., for laundry. I’m getting ready to trial a homemade laundry soap recipe too.

Honored to be mentioned in this amazing article about wellness… thank you, Sue! I do follow alkaline diet…although I’ve not heard it called that. I’m aware of healthy, cleansing foods and those to avoid…but so very hard to pass on caffeine, wine and a donut some days! 😀 I’ve eaten/lived this way a long time…getting me to almost an octogenarian! If my writing helps enlighten and handling life help others, I’m grateful. Bless you for seeing that in me! 😊😘

Thank you, Joan, your writing is so enlightening and thank you for your kind words. I too love my coffee but always have my lemon/ginger/honey/herbs drink as an effecive inner cleanse. Coffee is held off till 11am and it's a real treat - I make the most of it. I'm going to go through another 3:6:9 Cleanse this Summer. It removes anything that inevitably builds up over time, however careful we are, and resets the clock, as it were. I have a book review coming out next on Cleanse to Heal which may be of interest. I am grateful to you too, sending my love.

Thanks Sue for writing this. I am extremely saddened by the food world, especially here in the US. Organic foods are astronomical in price. I make minimum wage and yesterday spent $150 on TWO bags on groceries on organic foods. I’m living paycheck to paycheck and organic is extremely important to me but sometimes I give in and eat crap food because it’s all I can afford. Then I pay for it because I feel inflammation in my body but what else am I supposed to do? I decided I wanted to grow my own food this year… bought organic seeds, my father purchased wood and made me a garden bed. The isssue is now I’m realizing finding organic topsoil in bulk is basically impossible or I’ll have to buy it in individual bags. The difference in price between delivery of two yards of topsoil organic vs some mysterious topsoil that everyone claims has organic material but who the hell knows what else is in there, is $78 dollars for non organic and $800 for organic. I simply cannot afford the latter and the price difference actually brings up rage inside of me. Everytime I call a place looking for organic topsoil they don’t understand the question or tell me it’s not necessary because it is made with SOME organic material. The system is built this way on purpose and knowing that furthers my rage. I’m wondering if there is even a point in me doing it without the organic soil- the entire point was for me to control my food and be 100% organic. Truthfully, it’s disheartening for someone who is barely getting by living paycheck to paycheck. I love that there are other people who get it but I have none around me who care or do. Awareness is daunting and honestly hard to deal with in a broken society where no one cares or thinks I’m being “ridiculous” about the food and the good soil.

Bless you, Kenna, thank you so much for sharing! It is terrible the way we are prevented from having our own land or outside space to grow things naturally for ourselves and to share around. It's terrible that going organic is so difficult and expensive when it is an inalienable right for us all (along with free access to clean air and unadulterated water). I am the same here with a tiny garden that limits me to pots and any wildflowers that want to grow around them. I make the most of it - planting as many herbs as I can (and flowers for the bees and butterflies) and steeping them every the morning in my lemon and ginger herbal tea. I posted a recipe here recently as part of this collection. You have to compromise sometimes and if you are keen to grow, do the best you can. You can't always be 100% organic but you can get close, and Mother Nature is generally so robust, she helps to cleanse things naturally all the time with her rain and built-in filtering systems. It's good to water your plants with filtered water and feed them with natural things you think they will like and need. There are some great channels on YouTube with hacks on how to grow your own produce just about anywhere. The herbal teas and remedies are marvellous because they are concentrated goodness which you can brew, cool and keep in the fridge. It means that every morning and before sleep you can give your body a super boost of helpful nutrients needed for thorough cleansing and repairing to take place. Another one is to dry, sprout and grow your own seeds from the organic food you are buying - lemon pips, orange pips, tomato pips, seeds of all kinds and also root vegetables which you can leave to sprout - start small, try different things and build from there. I am preparing a post about growing a herb garden in pots and that might be useful. Sending you so much love, Kenna Marie, you are Nature's child.

Sue, thank you so much for your words but further for seeing and hearing me. Your comment on being natures child brought tears to my eyes. We all are but so many have forgotten. You already know this. And you’re right- we do what we can. I take gardening seriously, know it is a huge responsibility and see myself as a steward of the land. So, I will do my best with what I have and it will all work out. The fact that I love earth with all my heart will manifest into the food I grow and the soil I choose. I will look for your tea recipes and YouTube is always an inspiration for the garden. Thank you for the reminder. 🙏🏻

I am remiss. I should have mention cornucopia institute. I think it’s cornucopia.org. If not keep searching but they will tell you if a certain brand is small family farmers or corporate anti-what organic it’s all about. Best to buy directly from the Farmer.

Thank you for the mention among a group of wonderful writers, some of which I already read and will check out the rest. Information I've absorbed about keeping the body alkaline for good health aligns with your information pretty well. Rumor has it that cancer cannot live in an alkaline environment. Not sure about all fermented foods being bad though, things like sauerkraut are very good for the digestive system by feeding the good bacteria in our guts.

Yw. Please let me know what you find. Btw, sauerkraut can be made without vinegar, simplest recipe is cabbage, salt, a "burping bucket" and about a month.

There is no vinegar in a lacto fermentation sauerkraut. It’s either whey, or whey and salt. I prefer the all whey method.

Lacto fermentation is a completely different process than pickling, which uses figure. Always.

Yes, I just found out about this. I am due to share a fab recipe on my notes. A post I read here recently. Vinegar is to be avoided, it dries you out and puts strain on the liver. Real sauerkraut is my next new recipe to try.
