New leaf, translucent foliage in the light,

Emerging in a flourish of new life,

As Nature says it’s time, we call it leaf out,

Bringing in the Spring succeeding Winter's drought.

Old leaf, resplendent, fine in golden yellow,

Fallen on the path beside the meadow,

A once new Sycamore, so finely pointed,

Beautiful in dying down and ever poignant.

Take time to stop and take a closer look,

Nature brings a knowing for the good,

From seed to leaf to plant and all between,

A synergy of grace in art pristine.

In Nature, many treasured gifts abound,

Living with us in the here and now,

Love in Mother Nature's bright creation,

Makes us part of something precious, quite sensational.

Sacred patterns seen throughout the natural world,

Gentle shapes and forms in spirals, waves and curves,

Soothing for the soul and pleasing to the eye,

Perfect moments we can capture through our lives.

And so, with thoughts of wonder on your mind,

Notice Nature's call to seek, and you shall find,

Pause to sense the beauty of your day, however brief,

As the sun gleams or the rain falls, take a leaf.
